Copper plating on a stainless steel pot

(Re-posted: originally posted in Sep., 2012)

Wanna get a nice copper-clad stainless steel cookware? Just buy one from a reliable brand, though it may cost over $200. Never try this at home - failed.

Side table

(Re-posted: originally created in June, 2011)

Wanted to get a side table. So I decided to build my own. Everything went quite easily because I luckily found a good resource at IKEA:

In fact, it is a shelf, as you can see. It costed just $29.99. Everything needed to be done was just to reconfigure the shelf into a side table:

Headboard for my bed

(Re-posted: originally created in July, 2011)

I bought a mattress and box spring set 3 months ago at SleepTrain. I like my bed. It's very cozy, though it's a bit small for me (twin size). One thing I don't like with it is that it didn't come with a headboard. I considered buying a headboard separately, but, I couldn't find a proper one. So I decided to make my own headboard. Fortunately, as usual, IKEA has all the solution I'm looking for.

This is a cheap ($19.99) and nice tea table from IKEA, and I transformed it to a headboard like this.
The most tricky part was to drill a straight hole on the side of the table top for the legs.

Got a flashlight finally...

(Re-posted: originally created in July, 2011)

Don't ask why I need a flashlight, because I don't know either. Anyhow, a flashlight is a sort of must have items for men, like a nimble car or zoo annual pass.
Basically, it's a Maglite 2D.

I like Maglites. Most of all, I like the design, which is neat and never outrageous like those of Surefires. I think the halogen lamp is behind the times these days, though. So I threw away the original dim halogen lamp right away after the purchase. Instead, I installed a Terralux LED light source.

This light source provides 700 lumens, which is 28 times higher than the original halogen. However, it requires supply voltage over 6 volts. Fortunately, I could find this one.

It's a 32600 Li-ion battery, which is of approximately the same size as an Alkaline D cell. It's slightly bigger than the ordinary D-cell in fact. When I first found this battery at an online store, it was out of stock. So, I waited for it to be in stock again for about one good year. With two of these Li-ion cells, I was able to supply 7.4 volts to the light source. Now, the flashlight works perfectly!
